Wedding Reflection

Well it has been a while, hasn't it? After the whole contest thing went downhill, it was full steam ahead on wedding this and wedding that for the perfect day. Now I know I was all for the contest, I mean, who wouldn't want a free wedding? But honestly, it worked out so well.

By not winning we were blessed by many awesome opportunities and great new friendships that we wouldn't have had the chance to have met if we had won.

Not winning gave us the great privilege to create our own dream wedding, and it turned out so awesome!!!

I handmade all of my invitations, flowers, altered and rejuvenated my wedding dress, and all the other decorations, with the help of many many lovely and willing ladies. With full time work and school, you would think making this wedding was a nightmare. But it wasn't! It was definitely stressful, mostly because all I wanted to do was to do wedding things and not do any studying.

Heres a little peak at all the happenings of the finished product.

ENGAGEMENT STORY! here it is folks.

Well as of April 7, we have been dating for four years. FOUR years. Now just try and tell me that this is just a silly high-school relationship. Beginning as the best of friends and discovering that we really can't just live without each other, we've known for a while that we would always be the best of friends with the benefit of being each others spouse.

This most recent April 7th was a good one I'll tell yah!
Earlier in the week we had decided (at least I like to think I had something to do with the planning, but Miles had it all planned out way ahead of time) that we would go to downtown Charlottesville, Virginia to spend our day of out 4th year. Around 11am that morning, cute miles shows up with beautiful roses and a smile on his face. He smoothly suggests that we hang out around Lynchburg lest we wear out our stay in the little downtown strip of Charlottesville. So we head out to the Muse Coffee shop to get some pre-car trip caffeine and to have a much needed relaxing chat. Its the first time in a while we have actually gotten to just sit, be still with each other and not have to run to class, pressure of homework or going to work. I sipped on a Red Tea Party Latte (yum) and Miles had his Caramel Latte.

We eventually decide to head to the car and start moving towards our destination!
Once in Charlottesville, Miles takes me to the beautiful store, Anthropology, that I had really been wanting to look around in. Poor guy, he suffered the whole perfumed and high priced store just for me! But we made our way downtown and looked in a few little shops here and there. Including a weird cat shop where a lady yelled at us for taking pictures. Around four Miles says little things like "lets go this way" or something like that. We came to the front of The Melting Pot eventually! Oh, that place is just great. Miles had reserved the fancy private seating which included a room and a table for just us two. The folks at the Melting Pot even gave us an anniversary card along with a balloon and a photo frame for us.We had an absolutely scrumptious meal which included "still water" which Miles didn't realize actually meant super expensive bottled water. Haha!

After a luxurious meal we waddled out to the car where we put our ballon and Miles grabbed his backpack, which Miles explained that it contained my anniversary present. We then walked over to Spendora's Gelato. Dont judge. Yes we just ate a huge meal, but we've made a tradition out of it. :) Well at the end of the little downtown strip of Charlottesville, theres a huge outdoor amphitheater. This theater became more and more breathtakingly awesome as we walked inside it all by ourselves.  We got to the stage and hopped up to finish our ice cream. Miles looks at me and says "want your anniversary present?" Of course I did. From his backpack he handed me a huge gold paper wrapped amazon textbook box. It was heavy. It was reaaaally heavy, I later found out that he put bricks in the box to throw me off. I opened the box and found this note...

And I looked over and he was on his knee and asked the most sweet question. Tearssssss. Of course I said yes! After some awesome time of saying "fiance!" a million times over and just enjoying every moment, Miles says "hey, lets wait till we get to the car to tell everyone." Alright thats ok with me. Then we get to the car and he then says that itd be nice to have the ride home without being bombarded by phone calls and such. Little did I know just what else was hiding up Miles' sleeve. Our other friend Christian calls miles and lets him know he needs to pick up his guitar from church. Thinking nothing of it all, I agree and go along with it all. Surprise! When we get to the church our families and close friends have all shown up at our engagement party that Miles collaborated with friends of ours, Dave and Holly, along with his sweet mom.

terrific. day.

Am icool yet?

Yes I have joined the iPhone bandwagon. And I have to say, it's pretty impressive! I'm already enjoying and discovering tons of apps and am assured all of my stuff will be secure and in place so I will never have to reset my phone to factory settings. *ahem* I'm taking to you my dear faulty droid. And yes, I'm pretty thrilled to use instagram after seeing hundreds of pretty pics from friends everyday.

Mac is the place to be. Bam!

Daily life

Alright Naked Green Machine smoothie...I guess you're ok.
So yesterday we had snow for the first time this year! Here in Lynchburg, everyone flips out because of snow. They practically think its a blizzard no matter the amount. Me being from Colorado, I have missed this snow dearly! Except not the shoveling part, because no one likes to shovel. Anyways, I decided to surprise my Miles with a Starbucks treat and a red box movie.

Happy Snow day! Now off to watch movies, make things, and maybe crack open a text book. Maybe.

Sweet Valentine

Hope you had a happy Valentine's day! Heres just a peek at what my day looked like. The top pictures were the presents I personally made for Miles. This lucky boy got lemon cupcakes, a squirrel silhouette box that held a red bow tie, and a card! Miles had a envelope labeled "adventure" filled with many letters all containing a few options, such as "what movie to see?" and we'd roll the dice and that would be the movie we went to. Of course, I could over ride the dice anytime I wanted to:)
Would you like to see how I made the box, tie, and card? Comment!
